I'm not a sommelier but I do know what good is. Our neighbors brought us a homegrown yellow flesh watermellon yesterday. I'd never had one before and I was stunned by the flavor. I realize you have to take my word for it, but in all seriousness, this was easily one of the best watermellons I've ever put in my mouth. The flesh was sweet right down to the rind. To serve, we chilled, seeded, and sliced the mellon and served it in a martini glass. Pair with a nice Riesling and you have a great, light dessert.
