Here is my twist on Strawberry Shortcake...except the strawberry in this instance is a spoon of homemade sorbet. Homemade sorbet, homemade whipped cream, and homemade pound cake. Different flavors and textures all coming together in harmony.
The sorbet was made with strawberries, 1 cup of simple syrup, a splash of fresh squeezed lemon juice, a bit of lemon zest, and a splash or two of Prosecco. Yes, it's just as delicious as it looks.
