It's been a while since I posted something about sailing. With the change of the seasons comes something that gets every sailor's blood pumping a little harder - wind. So it's only appropriate to post something exciting to kick off the fall sailing season. If you've never been sailing, you don't know what you're missing.
This first video is of me and my buddy Spencer at the 2010 Dauphin Island Race hosted by BYC of Mobile. We're sailing his Cal 30 in about 18-20 knots of wind in Mobile Bay. With no practice, we placed third in our class but ripped our main after we lost a batten and the wind picked up to about 25-30 knots on the ride home. '
The second is an extreme sailing video showing a bunch of open day sailers (Lazers) in big wind. The last video is a series from the Volvo Ocean Race...now that is some crazy stuff.
